Outlook (2003) installs but at initial startup I am told to create a new
e-mail profile in Control Panel and click "always use this profile" at the
finish. However, no matter how many times I do this, I get the same message.
Once, I actually did get past this error message, but then I got another:
"Cannot start MS Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set
of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your
administrator if thhis condition persists."
After many unistall/reinstall operations, I finally decided to do a repair
installation of Windows XP (SP2) and tried to install Outlook (2003) one last
time. The test message and configuration was verified as correct, but I got
the same initial message (i.e., add a profile) and Outlook 2003 never opened.
I am currently using Outlook 2000, which barely functions with my PDA, but
I'd really like to get Outlook 2003 up and running. Any suggestions?
