Hi everybody, I have some problems trying to insert a whole PP presentation in a document created with Office 08 for Mac.
I did the following steps: first I copied the whole slides then I choose past special by edit menu in the word document created but appears
"memory is not enough, save the documents now "...so I saved, but nothing happened....
I tried with the simple process "copy and paste" and it works but the imagine quality is terrible and, of course, it doesn't work as presentation....!!! I tried to insert it as object (searching from file) but appears "The server application, source file, or item cannot be found" :(
anybody can help me?
thanks a lot

I'm afraid it isn't at all clear exactly what you're trying to insert the
PPt into -- " a document created with Office 08 for Mac" doesn't say very
much. Is it a Word document? An Excel document? Another PPt document?

If another PPt file have you tried Insert> Slides From> Other Presentation?

Hi,

For once, I am awake and CyberTaz is asleep.

To answer your question:
In PowerPoint, use File > Send To > iPhoto

Switch to Word

View > Object Palette
Change the pop-up to From iPhoto

Drag your slides into Word.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Maybe I didn't explain well my problem and what exactly I need. Following Jim's suggestions I can insert PPt slides in my word document one by one ( perfect datas quality), but they still are imagines and not a PPT presentation. I know that including PPt presentation in a word documents should appear just the first slide which you can click it on to start automatically presentation, is 't right?
Thanks again!

Well, Jim's right -- I missed your passing reference to Word in the first
post... I can't quite keep up with the contemporary trend toward not
bothering to capitalize proper names. However, based on what you're now
describing, No, you cannot embed a PPt presentation file in Word nor run the
presentation in Word.

What you can do is create a Hyperlink in your Word document to the PPt, but
the PPt file has to go with the Word document if you intend to send it on.

Perhaps if you'd clearly describe exactly what it is you are trying to
accomplish someone might be able to offer suggestions.

FWIW, on the Windows versions, you can do this in Word:

Insert, Object
Choose Create From File
Navigate to your PPT file and select it

Don't checkmark Link if you want the presentation embedded.

When you OK that dialog you get a preview of the PPT in Word; doubleclick it
and it launches the presentation.

Perhaps you can do something similar in your version of Word/PowerPoint.

Sorry, my english is not good and it's not easy to describe clearly.
No, I cannot embed a PPt presentation File in Word and Yes,I tried with other presentations but It's always appearing the same message

"The server application, source file, or item cannot be found"

I should send a single .doc File with PPt presentation embeded, so I can't do any Hyperlink.
I don't really understand Steve's suggestion:
Don't checkmark Link if you want the presentation embedded

In the process you described, when It's suppose I should checkmark Link?

Thank to All

Hi,

How do you feel about using an Automator Plug-In or other Automator action?

Make this Automator Action in the Automator Application:
Add Content to Word documents
Open PowerPoint presentations

You should probably NOT put a checkmark next to Link.

At least, try that to begin with.

Well, as I replied previously you cannot embed a PPt file in a Word doc on
the Mac -- Mac PPt is not an OLE compatible program. If you *must* create a
single Word doc with the PPt file embedded you'll have to do it in a Windows
environment. [I'm not familiar with what Jim suggested, however.]
