Problem Installing Image Composer

I have two versions of FrontPage 2000: the standalone (2 discs) and the
version that is part of Office 2000 premier. The latter currently is
installed on my pc. I would like to add Image Composer (disc 2 of the
standalone) , but keep getting error messages. I went so far as to uninstall
Office completely and then install the 2 FrontPage discs, but Image Composer
still would not install.

My system is Windows XP. Is there some kind of incompatibility problem?
Is there a product comparable to Image Compser that would be compatible with
Office 2000 Premier?

I'm not going to be much help, but Image Composer is compatible with
XP. I have it installed and working. This is V1.5, which came with
FrontPage 98 and is one of the first programs I install whenever I
change my computer. Microsoft replaced it with some kind of flashy
user-friendly garbage.
Is there a product comparable to Image Compser that would be compatible with
Office 2000 Premier?

I may be wrong, but as far as I know Image Composer is a stand-alone
program. I see you already tried uninstalling Office and installing IC
first. Maybe a CD problem? Do you have a different CD drive on your
machine that you could try?

I run Image composer just fine on XP Pro (from the "stand alone" ver of
FP2000).

Just insert the 2nd CD into your PC, then using Windows Explorer open the CD and look for the
Setup.exe file.

Fido and Andrew,
I'm beginning to think that something is very wrong. I have two CD drives
(the first is CD-ROM, the second is CD/DVD RW). The first drive doesn't
recognize the IC CD at all (it prompts me to insert a CD when it's already
there), and the 2nd drive recognizes it but gives still won't install it.

If I had not done the same installation the same day on a different pc
(running Win 2000 and Office 2000) I'd have thought the problem was a bad
disc, but it worked fine on that one. I'm wondering if it's a version that
is compatible with Office 2000 Pro but not Office 2000 Premier. The FP is
v.1.5, and I'm currently using XP Home. I have XP Pro, but saw no need to
install it on my home pc.

Sounds more like two dodgy CD drives, or faulty disc. Try cleaning
the disc.
IC has nothing to do with Office, other than Office and/or FrontPage
have been used to distribute the program, also the only difference
between Office Pro and Office Premier is the number of programs
included on the discs.

I was able to do that. However, when I attempt to run the setup.exe file, I
get the following message:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to terminate
the application.

I'm about to give up.

I have not had any problem install IC 1.5 on any version of Windows, so I am not sure what else to
suggest...
