I am unable to install Money Link (between Money 2001 & Excel97) on my Vista
Home Premium Desktop Computer. I should be able to add it as an addition to
the list of available add ins in Microsoft Excel97. The installation
procedure is to click on ADD INS in the Tools Menu and then browse to Money
Link.xla which is located in C:\program files\Microsoft Money\MoneyLink.
Double clicking on the Money Link icon should add the Money Link ADD IN to
the list of available ADD INS.
However, when I click on Browse under C:\ there is a list of 17 folders and
Program files is not one of them. I am consequently unable to follow the path
to the MoneyLink folder. In the search box within the ADD INS browse box I
have entered Money Link.xla and received a reply 0 file(s) found. In advanced
search I entered Look in C:\program files\Microsoft money\moneylink. Click
Find now and receive the same reply 0 file(s) found. I have, therefore,
specified the complete path to where the file is stored and yet Vista cannot
find it. There must be something amiss somewhere.
I have installed the Money Link on my Laptop Computer which also runs on
Windows Vista home premium and had no problem browsing the Link.
I now find that if I click on the start button and enter Money Link in the
search box the file is found.
If I right click and open Money Link.xla, click Enable Macros ,and then
click on the get Money Data icon which appears on the tool bar I am able to
import the Money Data.. This, however, is not a solution to the problem as
Money Link is not added to the list of available ADD INS and the
connection thus established is lost when I exit the Excel program.
Help in isolating and solving the problem that is preventing Money Link
from installing properly would be welcomed.
Thank You
