Me
I'm pushing out Office 2003 (with outlook) in a GPO as an assignment
to desktops. It appears to install fine, but on some systems, when a
user tries to start Outlook, they receive the following errors:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1015
Date: 9/28/2004
Time: 3:30:08 PM
User: N/A
Computer: computername
Description:
Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x80070005
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1004
Date: 9/28/2004
Time: 3:30:07 PM
User: N/A
Computer: computername
Description:
Detection of product '{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}', feature
'OutlookUserData', component '{8ADD2C9C-C8B7-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}'
failed. The resource
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\UserData'
does not exist.
---------------------------
This is on Win2000 pro. The user's do not have admin rights on the
workstations (however, the error goes away if I give them local admin
rights temporarily). I know that this is a permission problem, but I
don't know on what directory/file/registry key.
Any help is appreciated.
