Problem installing Visio 2000 upgrade on new computer

I am a licensed owner of Visio 2000 Standard Edition UPGRADE version. I have
the original product key, receipt, documentation and CD.

Problem: I am trying to install it on my new computer. Setup can't find the
old version of Visio (which does not exist on new computer) and the 'upgrade'
install fails.

Can anyone please help? Thanks.
