Problem linking between presentations

I'm getting this problem using Mac OS 10.3.8 running Powerpoint 2004
ver 11.1.1. I don't get this problem in Windows under Powerpoint 2003
or on Mac OS 9 under Powerpoint 98.

I have two presentations A and B with multiple slides in each. I want
to be able to have links in A, that will take me to various slides
within B and links in B that will take me to various slides in A.

What happens is that I click on a link in A, it takes me to B okay.
But if I click on a link in B, it seems to take me back to A, but only
to the slide that I was previously on. In addition, clicking at this
point doesn't seem to do anything in A unless I click on a link, but
does seem to advance B, despite B being in the background.

This happened with the original presentation (created in Windows XP
with ppt 2003) and then again with a test presentation (created in Mac
OSX with ppt 2004).

I'm not sure if this is a result of something not being set, just an
issue with ppt 2004, or just a bug. Any insights appreciated.

Thanks!
Steven

From what you describe, I don't think this is generally a good idea. You
don't want to link from A to B to A to B to A to B, etc. Generally, you
want to link from A to B and then exit B to return to A. You might want
to check out the PowerPoint Linking Tutorial for more information. I
believe it was written for Windows, but most of the information should
work the same on the Mac:
