Problem Linking Cells Between Worksheets in the Same Workbook

Jeff

When I link cells from the master worksheet (Past
special - insert link) I get zeros in the slave
worksheet. Since the information that I need to link
between worksheet is TEXT -- I formatted the cells for
text in both worksheets and still get all zeros in the
slave. I need the cells in the slave to be empty (not
filled with zeros) until information is added to the
master. Any suggestions??

Jeff,

On rechecking, if you enter a 0 into a cell that's formatted as text it'll
be a "text" zero and the Tools/Options/View Zero Values won't
have any effect.
Why not just format the cells as "General"??

John

P.S. Once a cell is formatted as text and you enter a zero, if you
change it to General, it'll stay as text. You have to re-enter whatever
formula (or value) was in there after you set the format to General.

Thanks John:
I actually got it to work. I started a new workbook and
copied the headings from my orginal worksheets. I
formatted the rows as text and unchecked the view zero
option and everything works. I guess the first workbook
must of had some corruption or something. Thanks for
your help.
