Problem Linking tables

I get an error message ( " is not a valid name. Maker sure that it does not
include a invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long. ) I
am linking to a 2003 data base with 2007. I have tried several ways to make
this happen. I even imported the database into 2007. I can work on, in around
within the database I linked to but I cannot get past this error. It shows up
only on linked files not on imported files. If I try to set up a relation
ship within the tables I get the error as well as working with queries. None
of the tables have a primary key asssigned. I don't know if this is pertinent
to the problem but some of the field names have + or / in their names. Also
it will not allow me to delete any of the tables.

I hope there is an answer out there somewhere. Thanks for looking
