problem logging in error Ox800CCC90

This is the first time that I tried using my Outlook Express after installing
Microsoft Critical Updates, and I am getting this error message. Is anyone
else having this problem? I have already tried the other suggestions for
solving this problem. HELP, please.

Here is the error message:
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: (e-mail address removed), Server: 'incoming.verizon.net',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed', Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
