Problem of 'Bold'

Hi:
I've been using Word 2000.

Recently, I have a problem 'Bold.' Even I did not 'click' Bold at the top,
all letters I typing became 'Bold.' Only this problem occurring after a
letter size
of '12.'

Until a size of '10,' it does not happen.
I want all letters typed NOT 'Bold.'

Thanks for your help in advance.

Do they actually print bold or just appear bold on the screen? If the
latter, it's probably just a display issue. Changing the Zoom ratio might
make the weight appear more uniform.

Hi:
Thank you very much for the response.

Concerning the printing, ... even I never applied 'bold,' it still prints
'bold' all the letters.

However, strange to say, ... when I typed a letter using 'size 10,' it is
NEVER 'bold,'
unless I applied 'Bold' by clicking at the top.

BTW, this problem came to my attention ONLY after one of my framily members
typed
a letter. Then, I asked what he did/typed, but he too has no clue.

Any clue on this would be greately appreciated.

It's just barely possible that this is an AutoFormat issue; make sure that
"Define styles based on my formatting" and automatic headings are disabled
on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect.

Many thanks for the response. I truly appreciate your help on this regard.

I followed the instruction you described on the second response. However,
it still
is the same, ... not change anything, keep 'Bold' no matter how hard I
tried.

Then, I asked this morning the person who worked on Word last time. He said
that
he changed from 'normal' to 'print layout' on 'View' at the top. That
change causing this
problem.

Is/are there any solutions to this, ... due to a change 'View?'

Thanks again!

There is no reason that changing the view should change the way a document
prints, but it can definitely change what you see. If you have been using
"Draft font" in Normal view, then you would not have seen bold type
represented accurately. Are you sure that the bold property is not applied
to any of the text?

Thanks for the response again.

Only thing of which I can think is that in the past, I installed 'Web Eye'
on which
some of letters are more visibility/bold. In other word, letters could be
magnified to
those who with poor vision. I uninstalled this program by accessing
'Add/Remove' from
Control Panel. However, it might still have some residual effect, that
causing this problem,
'Bold.'

A good part is that printing came out 'normal' without Bold, although on the
screen of
Word, there is still 'Bold,' even though I never applied 'Bold.'

This is all I can inform.

I think you're just seeing that larger fonts look bolder, especially at some
Zoom ratios.
