Problem opening office 97 files

Hi All

I'm having a problem opening 97 programs on windows xp.
when ever i open the file i get a message saying the the
file is already open.

The file seem to open ok.

Can anyone help me

What program are you using to open the Office 97 files?

It doesn't matter what operating system you are using at this stage, you can
be using Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98 or 95, but what is important is the name
of the program you are using to open the files.
