Problem Opening Office While Online

I have a recent and rather strange problem. I am unable to open Office documtents while I am online. However, I have no problem opening Office document while offline. If I attempt to open an Office document while I am online, I get a blank rectangular bar at the bottom of my screen. Then once I get offline, the Office document I was trying to open will open automatically. Can anyone offer any solution? Please email me if so. Thank you.
