Problem printing an envelope in Word 2003

I am having a problem printing envelopes in Word 2003.
Everything thing appears fine on the "Envelopes and Labels" dialog box, but
when I print the envelope, the font color comes out red (on the dialog box
it's black). I can print a regular word document, and the font colors come
out as expected. This problem recently started and I haven't changed
printer cartridges for a while. I have verified, under options for
Envelopes and Labels", that the printer font is black. I have searched for
any help to the issue, but can't find one that solves the problem. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I actually pulled out the printer cartridges, turned off the printer, put the
cartridges back in, and it didn't help. Actual Word documents, with
different colors in them, print fine.

I'd still suspect it's the ink cartridge.

I meant replace the black ink cartridge, not just take it out and put it
back. Sometimes a printer will use black to make black text, sometimes it's
actually a combination of colors. Have you tried changing the color of the
font on the envelope just to see what happens?

I replaced the black cartridge, no change. I also tried changing the font
color and it sill comes out red on the envelope. Going along with your
cartridge changing suggestions, I put the old black one back in and replaced
the color cartridge. Works now! Thanks, JoAnn, for your help!

Ink cartridges can cause some really goofy things to happen. I suspect that
for weird color problems first - then printer drivers.

Wish I could take credit for helping but you're welcome anyway. I'm glad you
got it straightened out.
