Problem Printing Community Phone Book

R

Ron

I have XP and Office 2000 w/Publisher. I have created
access table and queries for our community name, address,
phone number and email data (approx. 200). Want to print
on 8.5 x 11 landscape into a bi-fold book with some pics
of our community in-between data pages. I have report
that prints data nicely, but can't get pics in. Can I do
this or should I be using another product of MS and
export my access data. I tryed to make snapshot output to
publisher but it would not pring multiple pages. Anyone
have some helpful suggestions or hints? Thanks!

All of this is off the top of my head so your mileage may vary...

I know that Word is capable of much more in graphics handling than I've ever
asked of it. I think you could do something like the following: Create a
very bare bones, single column, report in Access without headers or footers
and export it to Word (RTF). In Word I'd remove any formatting and page
breaks that Access may have insisted on inserting. Tell Word how many
columns you want. Insert your graphics where you want them. If you intend
to alternate a page of graphics with a page of names and numbers it will be
very simple. Word can also be pretty intelligent about flowing text around
graphics so once you have your graphics in place Word will put the proper
amount of text on a page and jump over the graphics. If names are added or
removed between runs.

I'm sure there are other ways to get the job done with the MS Office suite
but, if I had that job to do, that's what I'd try first.
