problem printing legal size, Word 04

I notice a similar post from 2003, for an earlier Word (2001). There's
no followup, am wondering if it was rectified, and if so, how. I have
the same problem, have tried HP, downloaded the latest printer driver,
but still have the problem:

I've just upgraded from Office 2001 to Office 2004 for Mac, cannot
print legal size documents (no problem prior to upgrade). The top 3
inches is cut off, leaving blank space at the bottom of the page.

I have gone into page setup, checked the margins, checked printer
options (HP1200 laserjet), checked compatibility options, done all the
things all the self-help sites recommend. It shows OK as an 11 X 14
document in print preview, and when viewing in page layout. Just
doesn't print.

Legal size documents in other applications (Appleworks, Adobe) print
OK, just not Word 2004.
Printing letter size is OK.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Does the doc have multiple sections with differing margin settings in each,
by any chance?

No, single document with uniform settings. No division into sections,
either.

For clarification - you refer to 'legal' but you cited measurements of
11"x14". Legal is 8.5"x14", so if you have set a Custom size of 11"x14" &
are trying to print to legal size paper, that could very well explain the
problem.
