Problem reinstalling with Office 2007 Upgrade

D

Don Ellis

Background: I'm using Windows XP SP2. Trying to reinstall Outlook 2007 from
my Outlook 2007 Upgrade edition, using my original Office 2000 Professional
disk for verification.

I had a problem with Outlook 2007 crashing and decided that uninstalling and
reinstalling was the answer.

1. Uninstalling Outlook 2007 (leaving Word, Excel and Powerpoint) was not a
problem. But when I went to reinstall Outlook with my Office 2007 Upgrade
version, it says "The path you have chosen does not point at a qualifying
upgradable product."
2. I used the same Office 2000 Professional disk for verification that I
used in the original installation. No luck.
3. I tried another Office 2000 Pro disk (my wife and I have the same system
and programs). No luck.
4. I brought home a full version of Office 2003 from the office and tried
using that for verification. Still won't work.
5. No one is in at Microsoft office. No help from Microsoft Knowledge Base
(I’m the only one in the world with this problem.) And no one has a solution
on Microsoft Outlook Forum.

Any advice would be welcome.

If there's no advice for this problem, then I would like to ask if there's a
problem installing Outlook 2000 until I can find a permanent solution?

Thank you.
