I have not found a resolution yet. It is still intermittent for us, although
it hasn't appeared for the last couple of months. It seems to be an issue
for a couple of weeks and then clears itself up for several weeks..it's very
hard to pinpoint the problem..I even developed a matrix that contained user
info, site info, all software / hardware info per user, time/date of error,
etc. and still could not come to any conclusions. Microsoft wasn't any help
because they recommend hitting the SQL server via Terminal Services (so it is
not so vulnerable)..that is not how we have our architecture set up, so they
would not continue to diagnose the problem (until we set everything up based
on their recommendation). Sorry I couldn't be of more help! If you happen
to find anything, please reply back to this post..I have seen many users
experiencing this same issue on other newsgroups that would benefit from an
answer. Thanks

I am having the same issue; however, it is very intermittent and affects
multiple users (although not at the same time). I thought it was a firewall
or network issue of some kind, but the intermittency threw me off. Did you
simply disable the Symantec client or make other modifications within
Symantec?
Thanks..

Hi,
I have a user who can connect to Project Server through Project 2003 and
can
open any of the projects but when they try to save a schedule back they
get
the following error:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Communication Link Failure
Has anyone had this problem before?? I am guessing it is possibly due to
a
corrupt MDAC file or some such, but i have no idea how to find out.
cheers for any help, it is greatly appreciated
regards
Lee
