Problem securing a folder on a Frontpage Website

I am trying find the best way to secure a folder on a website so that it can
only be viewed after the visitor has paid for it through paypal. The website
was built with Frontpage 2003, and I am curious if this has to be done with a
purchased SSL Certificate, or if the folder can be hidden on the website any
other way? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need an SSL but need to set unique permissions on the "folder"
- actually you need to create a FP subweb with Unique permissions
(you sent them the credentials after you receive their payment)
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825451
Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions
