Are you sure it's not error -17099 (note the minus sign)? In that case, have
a look at the solutions mentioned on the following page:

I have the same problem. I can not send any emails but I can received the ones redirected from my actual email account. I get error -3259. What should I do? On the web adress you posted, they do not explain what to do

Sorry, I can't help you with that. If the problem is not listed on the
Entourage Help Page, then it is not a known error message.

I also have exactly the same problem, seemingly starting out of the blue. I can receive emails, but can't send. I have the latest operating system on a brand new Mac, with Entourage 2008, and I am now paralyzed in my emailing ability. I can't seem to find any good explanation as to what to do with the same error code -3259. My ISP has no idea how to help, and nore does my local Apple store. I need a solution soon!!

I just started having problems with Entourage April 5th. All of a sudden it does not send emails. I receive my emails, but cannot send.

I was able to send on my ISP's web-based mail system, but nothing on entourage.

I am working with a MacBook running Office 2008 updated.

Anyone out there have answers???

Just recently, I can no longer send e-mails from Entourage 2008. Updated to 12.0.1 and it looks like it sends the mail fine, but no one receives it. I even tried my hotmail account. Sends it to other hotmail accounts, but not to other pop accounts.

It was working perfectly until my friends told me they hadn't received any messages. I get no error messages and the verification process in the automatic set-up work fine. Very annoying. Looks like I'm going back to Mac Mail.

1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

You can try re-entering info.
You can delete account and create a new one.
Using copy/paste can result in an extra space being added. Type carefully.
Check your Keychain for corruption.

Error -3259

No description...exchange error

User, Jeremy Reichman reports that -3259 seems to be solved by actually
making Global Catalog servers available for LDAP lookups.

My problem is even stranger. While I can send and receive normally from my home network, I am unable to send any emails if i am connected to a different network. Can anyone help?

Please, always begin a new thread for your own problems. Jumping in the
middle of someone else's thread with your own problem/question can lead
to confusion and that's not fair to the person who started the thread
looking for his own solution.

to know When asking a question please include which machine you're running
and which version of OS X, as certain answers will vary between different
Macs and Tiger vs. Leopard, etc. Including RAM helps when there are
performance issues.

We also need to know what version of Entourage you are using including any
updates.

It appears that you are using Comcast as your ISP. They have different
configurations for when you are connected directly to their network and when
you are accessing through a different ISP.

Go to help.comcast.net and look at the various FAQs for connecting to E-mail
through Entourage or Mail. I'd send a direct link, but the structure of the
Comcast website is complex (despite their "It's not complex, it's Comcast ad
campaign!).
