Problem sending emails with large attachments

I am having a problem sending emails with large attachments using Outlook
2003. My ISP says I can send emails with attachments up to 10mb but the 7mb
attachment I am trying to send will not go through. I have read other posts
relating to anti-virus software and have unchecked the box relating to
scanning outgoing mail but this has not made any difference. I have also
redone the email account to check for any configuration issues but have not
found anything remiss. My computer is up-to-date with all Microsoft updates.
I am using Trend Micro Internet Security, but even disabling this does not
help. Any ideas on how I could fix this would be greatly appreciated. Ive.

The problem might be that attachments get encoded before sending which
causes them to gain a bit of bulk so your 7MB attachment might actually be
over 10MB. Have you tried using any of those sites where you can upload a
file for someone to download later?

Thanks for your reply, Vince. You may be right about the encryption but I
have since tried to send a 4MB attachment with the same results. I am not
having any problems with emails without attachments and I have sent a few
under 1MB and they are all OK. I am also receiving large attachments OK. Each
time I attempt to send the larger attachments the email sits in the outbox
and eventually I get a message with either the error code 0x8004210B,
0x800CCC0B, or 0x800CCC0F. Does anybody know what these might mean? Ive.

I have also tried uninstalling the Outlook update referred to in a previous
post (953432)? but this was no use either.
