I seem to be able to receive mail but not to send mail (hangs in the Outbox). I recently migrated from my ISP bellsouth to at&t's yahoo, which changes e-mail send and receive server addresses and thus requires an Entourage client account change. I followed att's instructions (see below). The only thing I see is Entourage's Account settings fail to keep the check that I put in the Advanced settings checkbox for the receiving mail option to override default port 995.

I called att tech support. They said this is an Entourage problem, so I should contact Entourage support. They also said per the instructions below the SMTP server should instead be smtp.yahoo.com ...and starting at $99, I should be able to get help from AT&T PLUS Family of Data Services.....Arrgghh!

Below shows att's online instructions for southern states - URL <http://support.att.net/bellsouth/as...sprt_cid=85ca7d0e-ef5b-4a1b-9333-3da4f13613b9>

ATT instructs as follows:

If you've recently upgraded your home page to the new AT&T powered by Yahoo! home page and you use an email client to check your email, you'll need to update the settings in your email client.

....If you use Entourage as an email client to check your email, you'll need to update the settings.

To update the settings in Entourage, do the following:

1. Located in the Applications folder, open Entourage.
2. Click on the Tools menu in Entourage.
3. Click on Accounts.
4. Select your AT&T email account and click on the Edit button.
5. Change the following settings:
* Account ID: If you don't already have your complete email address entered here, do so now.
* Pop Server: Change your current settings to pop.att.yahoo.com
* SMTP Server: Change your current settings to pop.att.yahoo.com.
6. Under the Receiving Mail section, select Click here for advanced receiving options. You will need to change the following options:
* Check the box This POP service requires a secure connection (SSL).
* Check the box Override default POP port and enter 995.
* Click the grey box to close the popup window.
7. Under the Sending Mail section, select Click here for advanced sending options. You will need to change the following options:
* Check the box SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL).
* Check the box Override default SMTP port and enter 465.
* Check the box SMTP Server requires authentication.
* Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
* Click the grey box to close the popup window.
8. Click OK.
9. Close the Edit Accounts window.

As it turns out the ATT tech support, who 3 times said the SMTP address is smtp.yahoo.com, apparently was incorrect. The address that works is smtp.att.yahoo.com.

The only thing I still see is Entourage's Account settings fail to keep the check that I put in the Advanced settings checkbox for the receiving mail option to override default port 995. ...interested in knowing if this normal for Entourage.

We have those setting posted.

Yes, and it makes no sense. However it works.
