Problem setting up Entourage with exchange server.

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I set up the mail program that comes with the Mac OS by simply inputting my incoming mail server (corpmail.mycompany.com), outgoing mail server (my company email) , user name, and password. Everything works perfect. I am trying to set up Entourage but it doesn't ask for this information, rather it asks for Account Name, Domain, and Password under the Authentication header, and then Exchange Server domain below that. I'm not sure what information it wants for Domain, web mail address? Outgoing server?

I also have the choice of entering authentication information or Kerbersos ID. If I try and enter the Kerbersos ID it asks me for password and Realm??? Not sure what this is and I didn't have to do it with the Apple mail app so I don't think it's needed.

Any idea how I can give it the right server information in the right input field? Why is this more complicated than Outlook or the Apple mail app?

Thanks

Hi doug

although written for Entourage 2004, it's still valid for 08:

Have a good read of this webpage as it seems that you're missing out some very basic information about setting up Entourage with Exchange.

Also, you are most likely not using Kerberos, but it is best to ask your Active Directory domain administrator, he/she can provide you with an answer to that question (and the name of the kerberos realm if the answer is yes). Also, other questions that you have are better answered by your AD administrator, as in domain name, etc..

Here's one hint though that i came across:

When entering in user name and domain, leave the domain field empty, and enter the user name with the domain followed by a backslash: e.g.

DOMAIN\username

found that if you don't do it like this, Entourage (both 04 and 08) keeps on disconnecting
