If you have a workplace LAN, ensure that the shared user has the same
login and password on both the client and server machines.

Try this from this article
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP011134941033.aspx:
Verify that a shared Business Contact Manager database exists on the
computer in question.
Verify that firewall settings on the remote computer are permitting
connections to the Business Contact Manager database (through TCP port 56183).
Verify that the TCP/IP network protocol has been enabled for the Microsoft
Small Business database instance on the remote computer, and that the
Microsoft Small Business instance is configured to listen on TCP port 56183.
Verify that the computer where the database is located is turned on.
The database on the remote computer may be stopped or paused. Verify that
the database is in a running state.

I also downloaded a PDF from here
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...324-a9c7-28365087441f/W09_Troubleshooting.pdf
which includes information on troubleshooting a database connection. (There
are two more PDFs, related location, called W06_Sharing.pdf and
W03_DatabaseOperations.pdf, just copy the doc name into same location to
retrieve.

I think we could help more if we knew exactly what steps you took from the
KB mentioned below, and what the result was for each of them. Detailed
answers please, thanks.
