Mail Merge Letters from MS Excel Worksheets via DDE
My experience was when I merged to a new document Word did not suppress all
blank fields and carried over data into that field from a previous record.
The problem was inconsisent and puzzling. Out of 618 letters 112 of them
were effected by this error.
The problem started on record 112 when two fields that were blank for that
record contained merged data from the previous record. The problem continued
until record 127 and then it was fine again for a while until record 224 the
same thing happened and continued until record 319 and then cleared up again.
This isn't the only time this has happened to me. It happens infrequently
and sometimes fixes itsself when I rerun the merge to individual letters
again. But I want to know if this is a bug and if there is anyway of fixing
it because I just sent out 112 incorrect letters to my employees.
Thanks,
