Problem synchronizing Outlook Contacts with Palm

Using Outlook 2000. Up until today, I was able to synchroize my Outlook
contacts with my Palm. (Palm M515 using Palm desktop 4.01 with
Palm-supplied Pocket Mirror for Outlook synchronization.)

Earlier today I did some major maintenance on my Outlook folders,
deleting a lot of old stuff, archiving some folders, etc. I rebuild my
OUTLOOK.PST file by creating a new one and copying the contents of the
old copy to the new copy.

Since then, the Palm will not synchronize the Outlook contacts. The
sync process displays the "Synchronizing Outlook Contacts" message for a
few seconds then goes on. The following message appears in the log file:


ERROR: 00001013
Error connecting to Outlook.

685: BaseConduit

ERROR: 00001013
Root folder open failed.

12883: BaseConduit

ERROR: 00001013
Open failed on folder: \Personal Folders\Contacts

Could not open the item. Try again.

12296: BaseConduit
12270: BaseConduit

Outlook Contacts synchronization failed

Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on here?
