Chris
we are using Outlook 2003 Sp2 and Exchange 2003 Sp2. All our users are using
online mode (MAPI) except one user, our CIO. He uses rpc/https with his
laptop (XP SP3) even in the office. Here is the problem.
sometimes he sent an email from his outlook (rpc/https) and the mail
disappeared from Outbox, but nothing in the Sent items (if you check). If
you look at his mailbox using OWA or Outlook MAPI it will show you that the
outbound email is still in the Outbox, with the icon like it's still
processing (a few lines in front the italic envelope). The only way to
resend it is to delete it from Outbox and resend from Deleted items.
It's hard to reproduce and most time it's an email with attachment, any
attachments, Word, PDF, etc. From time to time he receives sync log with
errors. Some say "blackberry policy" or serer is busy, or nothing.
he has Blackberry, Google Desktop and Callpilot desktop software (from
Nortel for vocie mail alert).
Working with MS support I have tried many things, such as delete his OST to
rebuild new one, create new Outlook profile, disable all add-ons, new Windows
profile, rebuilt OS. I really thing it's a sync issue but can't tell what's
wrong. I have enabled outlook logging. So far haven't seen any problem.
Have to wait till it happened again. Are there any other way to log outlook
activities, especially for rpc/http or cache mode connections?
have you seen such problem? Any idea how to troubleshoot?
Thanks.
