hi
i am using osx tiger with hebrew fonts embedded (bought in israel) on
my G5 2.3 DP. i have problems typing hebrew in microsoft 2004 for mac.
whenever i start typing hebrew from right to left, strange things
occur. the order of letters in words changes, sometimes the whole order
of words in a sentence changes (sometimes it doesnt). sometimes when i
press the enter key or even the space key, the whole sentence changes.
i can read the fonts but they are all mixed up. i tried many options
but couldnt really understand why it happens and if there is a way to
solve it. its really frustraiting since i have hebrew fonts on the
computer and n the keyboard. why cant i use them in word ?

thanks

The short answer is: "Because Mac OS X does not yet support right-to-left
text.

Word now supports Unicode, so the characters will appear. But the
right-to-left rendering mechanism from the PC version of Word cannot yet
work on the Mac because the OS does not yet support RTL.

Sorry: On the Mac you will need to use a word-processor such as Mellel that
draws its own display.

Hope this helps
