Problem uploading website revisions using Publisher 2003

A few days ago I found that both my laptop and pc came up with same error
message when I tried to upload revision to my website, "Documents in this
folder are not available. The folder may have been moved or deleted..."
Because the problem is the same on both computers I have concluded that
perhaps they have both been affected by a Microsoft recent update?? What can
be done to update my website, its URGENT! Thanks for any help.

Are you running XP or Vista? Do you have IE6 or IE7? Are you using FTP or
HTTP uploading protocol? Did you just install XP SP3?

Thank you David for your response. I have xp on my pc and vista on my laptop.
I usually use HTTP but now this has failed I have also tried using FTP which
also fails. I have not just installed XP SP3 (?) and I dont know about IE6
and IE7 (?). The strange thing is that the fault has occurred on both the
laptop and the pc which are not connected to each other. My thought was that
some recent Microsoft update has affected both machines causing them to
misplace, or not read/, the files/folder?? but I am a rank amateur at these
things!

I asked about SP3 because there seems to be a rash of this kind of problem
as of late, and it added some security updates to XP that are already
included in Vista. Since you are running both, I would agree and guess that
it was some other patch that created the problem. You can check Add and
Remove in the Control Panel to see if you can spot the SP3 update, which is
delivered automatically to your computer if you have it set up to install
patches from MSFT. You might also spot another recent patch that might be
causing it. Hard to track those things down. And...though it might not work,
you could try a system restore to before the problems started, but it is
likely to have been too long to do that. And though I live without patches,
you probably shouldn't, so if you are not using a form on your website, then
FTP uploading is fine. I would suggest downloading and installing the free
FTP client FileZilla: http://filezilla-project.org/ It is likely to be
easier for you and you can probably work around any problems caused by a
patch. After you install it, set to Auto File Type rather than ASCII File
Type.
