problem using the backup pst tool

I downloaded the backup pst tool, back-up my e-mail messages (1.3G) but I
wanted it to go to a folder inside my network group (it saved it to my
server). I deleted the back up file, tried to change the destination folder
and then ... everything wouldn't work. When I clicked on back up on the File
menu (of Outlook) it just wouldn't do a backup anymore. I tried the repair
function that is available on the Add/Delete Program of Control Panel I got a
message that says: fatal error on installation. Help!
