Problem using Thumbnails in Navigation Panel

I have a 24 page Word 2004 document on a Mac PowerBook G4/OS 10.3.8.
The text is almost exclusively tables. When I added a couple of new
tables recently, I lost the Thumbnail view.

The Navigation Pane will show a partial topic outline but will no
longer show page thumbnail icons.

I have spent hours trying to reactivate the Thumbnail view in the
Navigation Panel. I have searched the Office 2004 Missing Manual and
the Word 2004 book by PeachPit Press and can't find a solution. Is
there anyone out in WordLand who can help me?

Does this happen with this document regardless of how many times you
quit/relaunch or restart your computer?

If so could you send me a copy of the document with instructions on how you
repro this issue?
