I have recently upgraded to XP and I have found one
feature that doesn't work well for me. I am constantly
shifting data back and forth between Access and Excel.
This was not a huge problem in 2000, but in XP it is not
working well. I have already posted a problem with
importing, but now I have a second problem with
exporting. I had a basic Access query and I was trying to
copy and paste the resulting data into an Excel sheet.
However, the numbers do not come out in the proper
format. For example, here is what my data looks like:
Date Vendor Name Account Number Amount
The vendor name and account number look alright, but the
date and the amount come across as Text fields rather than
numeric values. For example: "07/01/03 and "$400.01 I
have to convert them back to proper numeric values to be
able to do any calculations with them. It wasn't a big
deal because this was a small, simple file, but some of my
others are much more complex.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
