Problem when date field from Excel database is inserted to Word 20

I have a table with names date, invoice numbers etc in Excel 2007. I am using
this for a mail merge in Word. Everthing inserts ok except date fields which
are displaying in excel in Australian (dd/mm/yyyy or dd-MMMM-yyyy) format are
always converted to US mm/dd/yyyy format.

I have converted the files to Word and Excel 2003 format and tried on a
differnt computer running Office 2003 and i get the same result.

Thanks Graham

when i did a further search i fould your and others previous posts,
aoplogies for not looking further first but the way i got to the discussion
group list didn't lend itself to a search that returned the answers.

i found it interesting that this switch is not mentioned in the manuals for
word or in the online help.

Date formatting switches are certainly mentioned in Word Help.

I agree they are they in general terms but no inference that they apply to
mergefields, the only thing mentioned is 'case'
