Max

Everytime I am closing my Microsoft Office Word (2003), it popup a windows
"Misrosft Office Word have problem, need closing ... "

Actually, it happens many times. Everytimes it happen, I recover my office
setting into default setting, then problem seems to be solved, however, same
problem happens again after about a week.

I hope to know how can I solve this matter, & why this problem arise ?

How are you going about recovering to default settings?

To me, it sounds as if you have a corrupted normal.dot (or some other global
template), a corrupted Data key (in the registry), or a problematic add-in,
and that one of those elements is re-corrupting the others each time you fix
the problem.

I would take a look here, and if add-ins are not to blame, then I would try
the simultaneous steps of renaming normal.dot (and/or any other global
templates) and the Data key, to see if those steps can prevent re-corruption
from occurring:

Note: problems starting are closely related to problems closing, but can
further be complicated if there are permissions issues when Word tries to
save changes to some of the underlying support files or settings. So, if
renaming/deleting Normal.dot and the Data key don't fix it, I would try
creating a new Windows user login to see if perhaps your user settings have
become corrupted.

Dear Herb Tyson

I am leaving messages everywhere to try and get some help with my Word 2003
crash - What is "normal.dot and normal.old? where do I find them? The
deleting registry instructions come to an abrupt halt when I don't have the
same words on the list on the screen as I am being told to follow. Sorry to
intrude but would be very grateful for help from anyone who would!
