problem when pasting next to a bullet

I make a numbered list like
1. something
2. something
3.

Then, when I I try to paste a text at "3.",
the text is pasted but "ABOVE" the third bullet. It looks like this

___________________

pasted text
3.
____________________

And pasting only works if I paste "under" the third bullet but not next to
it.
This is annoying. Why does this happen.
ON please cure this problem!

Where are you pasting from? What is the text? Is there possibly a carriage
return or something above/near the "pasted text"?

For example if you opened Notepad and you pasted that text does it appear on
one line in Notepad?

I just tried what you said and I didn't have any problem. I was pasting
from a web broswer and in Notepad my text was all on one line.

The expected behavior is that it will paste the text on that line, creating
row #3.

Does this help? Could you try it again with some other text?

When pasting from Internaet OneNote also adds link back to the site the paste
came from. This means that there are a few outline elements created (think of
them as OneNote paragraphs - a unit you can set a bullet on). In this case
OneNote doesn't extent bullets onto them.

Suppose this design was chosen to prevent ON to set bullets when people
paste a big chunk of content and _do not_ want any bullets there (because big
chuncks usually have their own formatting story).

There are two ways to approach your case: do not paste links at all (turn
this off in <Tools | Options | Editing> or for single paste choose to keep
text only (to do this click on the icon that appears close to the text
straight after you've pasted).

Note: I cannot repro the behaviour your are describing precisely so there
might be some other issue you are facing - I wouldn't be able to tell until I
know what is published onto the clipboard by your browser. It's not IE, is it?
