Problem when project splits a task!

B

Bob Schroen

In a server environment I have a problem that I can not explain where a task
is being split and shows a (for example) 5 day task where the start and
finish date indicated more than 5 days, however the resource that is
assigned to the task has not posted any time to it and therefore there is no
actual time.

If I remove the resource the split is removed and subsiquently when I
reassign the same resource the split does not come back.

Since I do not want to remove and re-assign all the resources that have this
problem to correct it, I would like to understand what is causing it to
prevent it from happening in the future.

If any one can shed some lite on this it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance - Bob

Bob:

Unless there's file corruption, there's always a logical explanation,
however obscure it may be. The information you're providing isn't enough to
speculate on.

One *possible* explanation is that Leveling was applied and caused the split
based on the resource's availability and other commitments.
