As soon as I introduce a formula into my spreadsheet, Excel 2008 for mac
(french) on Mac OS 10.5.3 crashes down.

Make sure you have Excel/Office fully updated - 12.1.0 followed by 12.1.1,
repair disk permissions & restart your Mac.

Framework errors are typically caused by the software being out of sync with
the updates - did you perhaps reinstall Office without reapplying the
updates? That's one way it can happen.

I did exactly what you described but no success :(

I tried what Pat suggested in another thread and logged in as a different
user. It worked without a problem. Back as standard user there where no
AutoRecovery files to delete though, XL startup with shift does not work
either.
Perhaps that information helps.

PS: Yeah, it is fully updated.
