Problem with %20's in filenames

M

Matthew Gibbons

When I open Microsoft Project documents (.mpp / MSProject.Project) from a
sharepoint document library, the filename of the document is derrived from
the url, and not
the url text, or filename.

For example, if I have a project 'Upgrade Server.mpp' when I open it,
Microsoft Project sees it as 'Upgrade%20Server.mpp'.

This is causing all sorts of problems, particularly with project server.
Anyone know a way around this? Other applications seem to work just fine...

Cheers,
Matthew

Matthew,
I'm not sure if there is a work around for this. The '%
20' is the hex value of the space charater. URL strings
cannot contain spaces due parsing on the server side, so
typically they insert a %20 to represent the space. One
work around is to not allow spaces in your project names.
So Upgrade Server.mpp becomes Upgrade_Server.mpp. Hope
that helps?
John.
