Problem with a flash .swf file

Devin

I have inserted a flash file that I created using Flash MX onto my web page.
When it opens in IE all is good. However when it is opened in firefox
(Windows) or on a mac (IE or Firefox) all you see is the actual plugin icon
that you see usually in design mode witht he file name underneath it. I
inserted the flash file by going to insert plugin....is that correct. The
flash file is nothing crazy and is just a picture that bounces from left to
righ and then to center and then zooms in. Maybee if this was created as a
..gif it would work better, and if so, how do I do that.

Also if the solution is creating as a .gif, in the future, what is the best
method to insert flash to avoid the current problem.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Have you installed the respective Flash plugins for those browsers?

If so, can you then post a link to the page?

I just downloaded the flash player for mac (the computer I am using right
now) and it still didn't work. Did you mean that there are specific plugins I
need to download, and if so where will I find them as i would like to have
links to them for other borwsers. Thanks again.

You would need to install a separate plugin for each browser. All are
available on the Macromedia site, or through the browser's plugin UI.

Thanks for your help so far. I downloaded the plugin from Macromedia. I
believe it was called authorware 7. I also downloaded the flash player from
the site as well. I still am just seeing the insert plugin logo on the
screen. Did I originally add the flash file correctly by just (insert
plugin)? I can't figure it out. Thanks again!!!
