Problem with a .ldb that won't go away

Hello:

I'm trying to work on a database that's in 2000 and I
can't get the ldb file to go away. I keep getting the
regular "No edits can be made, file is in use" message,
but I'm the only user of the database right now. I need to
make edits to the DB, but this ldb thing is killing me.
I've had this happen before and somehow took care of it,
but now nothing I do is working to get rid of it. I've
rebooted, tried to delete it, tried to cut and paste it,
nothing works. Any ideas out there?

Is this .ldb file on your network somewhere? If so, you may need to get your
network administrator to boot all users out of the file. After that you
should be able to delete it. Sometimes, if an improper exit is experienced,
a sort of "ghost" user will hang on to the .ldb file.
