I have distributed an Access application (still using Access 97) for
over 3 years. In recent weeks we have had error reports from several
new users. The program opens correctly with a splash screen but when
the user clicks 'Check for program updates' a fatal exception error
occurs. This is a fairly simple routine calling the Webbrowser Control
to navigate (invisibly) to a webpage.
Existing users and most new installers are not experiencing this
problem so presumably it arises from MSIE version incompatibity or
perhaps a broken reference.
I am unclear as to what steps to take to get to the bottom of the
problem so it can be corrected. Any advice or help would be most
appreciated.
