Problem with Access db as a source for mailmerge document

I'm trying to use an Access query as the source for my mailmerge in Office XP. The Access file is on a shared drive, that a few individuals have access to. When I select the source, I get the message "could not use __-mdb. file already in use (even though it is not in use). It then proceeds to open the listing of queries, when I select the needed one, it then goes to the "connections" dialogue box, none of which work. Help!

Access file is on a shared drive, that a few individuals have access to. When I select
the source, I get the message "could not use __-mdb. file already in use (even though it
is not in use). It then proceeds to open the listing of queries, when I select the
needed one, it then goes to the "connections" dialogue box, none of which work.I'm guessing you're dealing with a permissions problem on the network, here. Does the
folder where the mdb file reside have full read/write permissions? And the folder
location of the main merge document? Both applications rely on having full read/write
permissions to manage access and temporary files. I'm guessing the message you're getting
could mean that the Access *.ldb file hasn't resolved properly.

Ah, and are you specifying a data connection method?
