Problem with Adobe & Excel

A

Andy Panda

When somebody sends me an email attachment containing
a .PDF file, Excel suddenly becomes the default reader
even tho I have Adobe Reader 6 installed. I have to re-run
the installation of Office 2002 to repair the problem.
Once I do this, I am fine until I get a new .PDF file via
email. I'm running W2K, Office XP and Adobe Reader 6 on a
Dell GX260.

I assume all you need to do is to associate the .pdf
extension with Adobe. Open Windows Eplorer, go to "tools
(or view), folder options, file types" Then scroll to the
PDF extension. Click "edit", highlight "open" and
click "edit" again. Click browse and find the acrobat
executable at C:\program files\adobe....etc. Save it and
try it. Good luck.
