Problem with Appointments in Calender

J

John

Greetings,

Couple of months ago I received the following error when I tried to create a new appointment:
"Could not save the item. The form required to view this message cannot be displayed. Contact your administrator"
I read the through the newsgroup and found the solution of clearing the forms cache Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options>Custom Forms>Manage Forms>Clear Cache) and it worked fine for a few months.

The problem re-appeared a few days ago, the above solution helps for a day or two and then it comes back again.

Any idea why and what can be done to fix permanently?

Thank you.

You may need to go a little deeper and clean out both your
corrupted forms cache on the machine and any corrupted
forms that may be in your OST (offline) folder. Try the following:

Deleting the Forms Cache File:

The Frmcache.dat file is the primary file to delete. The Frmcache.dat
file serves as an index of the individual forms that have been cached
on the computer. Use the following steps to manually delete the
Frmcache.dat file. In addition, these steps delete all of the cached
forms on your computer, which are stored in subfolders of the
Forms folder.

1.. Quit Outlook.
2.. Search the Hard drive (<F3>) to locate the Frmcache.dat file.
(Be sure to check in HIDDEN files on W2K or WXP.)
3.. Delete all that are found from the FIND window.

Before you open Outlook:

I suggest you delete the OST file also. It could be that
your corruption is in the OST file that is holding the info. You would want
to delete all OST's on all machines that you have logged onto.

You need to be logged out of Outlook to do this. Search the drive for
all OST's and delete them. When you open Outlook the OST file will
rebuild itself using the information on the server.

If you do not find any OST files, that is OK. They only exist if you are
working in Exchanged Cached Mode or Offline Mode.

When you restart Outlook, and use a form, the forms cache
is re-created.

Thank you.

Before I start, I am not using Exchange, this is a stand alone Outlook. That being said, which steps shall I take?
