Problem with boxes in mail-merged labels

I am trying to use mailmerge to create a set of labels. To improv
layout I wish to put data into boxes within the labels (to ge
different font sizes etc.). When I do this in a document mailmerg
seems to happily put the data into the boxes, however when using label
the data gets messed up, with the first label having the data from th
14th record (14 labels in a sheet).

I have tried this in Word2000 and 2003, both have the sam
characteristic. Anyone know how to get around this?

It should not be necessary to put the mergefields in boxes to get different
font sizes. What sort of boxes are they?

Doug, do I take it from your reply that this cannot be done?

The boxes are because I want on the left hand of the label three line
of small font (reference info), and on the right hand of the label (i
the same vertical space) a number in very large font (these will for
index tabs). I have tried both text boxes and rectangular objects
both with the same effect.

Correction to above: I have tried this in Word2000 and Word2002.

Still no solution?

Found a solution!!

I can create a one cell table, and perfectly position it within th
label. This cell then acts like an independent box - and can tak
field codes. Voila.
