Hi All,
I have a database at a client's office, called ahhh... dbMyFE1 as a
front end linked to a back end called dbMyBE. Works as designed. No
probs.
I've brought a copy of both into my computer, made a few small changes
to some of the reports/forms/queries, etc. Let's say changes to 2
forms, 1 change to a report and changes to 2 queries.
Instead of copying the whole FE back to them, I thought I'd just send
the new stuff. So, I created a new database and used Get External
Data/Import to copy those 5 files to it. Hooked into their computer
over the internet, made copies of everything and then deleted their
old 5 files and tried Get External Data/Import the new 5 files.
But, when I try, the system immediately gives me and error: "Error
accessing file. Network connection may have been lost.".
I click on OK to the above error and get another error "Name conflicts
with existing module, project, or object library".
When I click on OK to that error, it looks like the files I tried to
copy (the forms first) did copy over to dbMyFE1 but when I try to
access them, I get these same errors. And closing the program and
restarting it I get the above 2 errors when starting the program and
links to dbMyBE are gone.
Anyone know why this would be happening? And, better yet...how to
resolve this?
Sure, I could just copy the whole dbMyFE over with the changes...but
there are about 25-30 other clients I need to update every so often
with different requirements, etc. I need to be able to Import
changes...and can't now.
Help!!!!
TIA
