Problem with deleted items folder

Hello:

We are testing an installation for 5000 users of Outlook 2003 Sp1 and
Exchange 2003.

We have found that the deleted items folder and the recover items
functionality are not working as they should.

When an item is deleted from any folder it goes to the deleted items folder.
Then we empty the deleted items and everything is fine.

Afterwards we try to recover the mails we deleted previously with tools -->
recover deleted items. We get to see the mails that were previously deleted,
we select them and we clic on the recovery button, and then nothing happens,
the mails are not recovered into the deleted items folder. If we try again
those mails do not appear on the recovery list either.

Then we have seen on the deleted items folder properties, in the synchronize
tag that this folder has 0 mails on it in the local copy, but it has some
mails in the server copy. We've been unable to synchronize them.

If we access the mailbox through OWA, then those mails we tried to recover
do appear in the deleted items folder !!, and everything works fine there.

Can anyone help?
