Problem with Embedded File Icons not Printing

Hello,

Some of my colleagues are having problems with the icon (Word, Excel) for
embedded files not printing. They can view them fine but they will not
print. They are in a different office and print to different Network Printers
than I do. I open their file, and I can print them fine either to a
networked MFP or to my slave printer. We are all using Office 2003 and
Windows XP. I had them check their settings, and we compared with mine and
they were similar.

Tools -> Options - > Print Tab -> Checkmark in Drawing Objects
Tools -> Options - > View Tab -> Uncheck Picture Placeholders
Tools -> Options - > View Tab -> Checkmark for Drawings (under Print and Web
Layout Options.

Is there any other options we should be looking at that I am just not seeing?

Thank you.

OK, the drawing options in the Print tab rules out our first suspect.
How have these icons been created, and/or inserted into Word?

Hello,

They are using the Insert Object option and selecting from file. Once they
locate the file, they check display icon. The application icon appears
(Word, Excel, etc.); they edit the icon title and the icon appears in the
file.

if I understand you correctly, you want to actually insert an image into
your file? Or a whole document?

For the former case: Insert | Object is about the last thing I'd try.
Make sure you have the image in a graphics file (BMP, GIF, etc.), and
insert it then through Insert | Picture | From File.
