Hi All,
Can any body tell me how Entourage interacts with sync engine?
I am trying to sync my server with Entourage.I do the things in same way in
which sync Engine expects like during pushing the events/contacts I make
sync records corresponding to any event and its relationships at server.
Then I push it to sync engine with a unique identifier. When I pull the
records I use the same identifier pushed during creation. After the sync the
event is visible at Entourage with all the information I've sent from the
server. Up to here the working is as I expect.
The problem is if I am modifying any relationship corresponding to the same
event(i.e recurrence,attendee) Entourage behaves bit weird .
It correctly modifies the record corresponding to the event identifier that
I mapped during pushing the event record but deletes the identifiers of
relationships. It then creates a new identifier for the relationship that
was modified and makes the record as "add" type, by providing a new
identifier (i.e. global id) which is unlike iCal.
This change of ID restricts me from further modifying any relationship at
Entourage and sync it with my server. This happens only in the case of
relationships but not with events that I push to sync Engine.
Can any body tell me is it a bug of Entourage because it restricts us to
sync our server with Entourage or some where I am going wrong?
