Problem with file conversion to "wmf"

When a Visio 2002 file is saved to "wmf" the dashed lines in the drawing become solid lines in the target file in MS Word. In older versions of Visio the dashed lines remained as dashed lines after the conversion. Hve tried simple cut and paste from Visio to Word and the dashed lines become solid using this method also. Anyone have any idea as to what is happening or what I am doing wrong
